Esther Odefey was born in the late 90s in Norfolk, Virginia, USA, and grew up near Nuremberg, Germany, with her four siblings and the family dog, Charly. Surrounded by her parents’ musical influence, she discovered her love for singing early on, spending countless hours doing YouTube karaoke and improvising freely.

During her high school years, she spent a year living in the United States – where country songs played on every radio station and Esther finally fell head over heels in love with the sound of country music. This period deeply shaped her musical identity and hinted at the artistic direction she would later take.

After graduating, her musical journey first led her to Dinkelsbühl – a small village in southern Germany – and then to Hannover. Over the past seven years of studying music, songwriting has become Esther’s essential tool for processing emotions and giving shape to her inner world. With a focus on emotional depth and honest storytelling, her songs are mostly inspired by stories from her own life: the fear of possibly never finding deep, romantic love; gratitude for friendships that have accompanied her since childhood; big dreams that inevitably come with their own challenges. Country clichés about pickup trucks and cowboys only play a minor role.

Influenced by great female artists such as Kacey Musgraves, Elle King, and Miranda Lambert, her repertoire ranges from heartfelt ballads and catchy pop tunes to high-energy country-blues-rock. Most of all, she loves bringing her music to the stage with her five band members. The two electric guitars, violin, bass, and drums give her sound depth and individuality – and make her music simply a lot of fun. With personal lyrics and a distinctive voice, she wants to create music that moves people and, above all, inspires more kindness and love in the world. It has always been important to her to stand up for a loving and empathetic way of relating to others.
